Challenging Productive Week

This whole week I rode my bike to work an average of 11 miles one way. It was not until friday that I decided it was time to take it up a notch and ride back home. Since riding to work coming down Muldoon going downhill and alot of up and down on Elmore street about an average of 20 minutes alone. Riding back home was a huge challenge everything seemed uphill for most the part. It takes me about an hour to get to work on my bike and an hour plus some if I'm having a hard time up the hill to get back home. It was all worth it. Will I do it again? Yes my goal is to lose 40 pounds by the end of august and stay in shape daily. Riding my bike to work really helped me get back to running and jogging. I want to get back to being fit and cut =) I was asked by a friend if I wanted to train for the Alaska Triathlon in two years. I didn't sleep well that night all I kept thinking about was this Triathlon.. can I do it? Is it possible..? In high school growing up I was very athletic .. took up cross country running, ran sprints, won first place in all my events for track but didn't get the chance to get a trophy that year because of a hurricane that destroyed our school year events. After hearing alot of good things from my boss about how he wasn't a runner before but decided to try it and ran for the Hawaii Marathon and did well I decided I was going to do it. when i got to work I told my friend I'm goign to do it.. I'm going to train.. riding my bike is one way to get started, than running or jogging 3 to 6 miles on saturdays with my two oldest. By the way I took the two oldest Celeste and Aano with me supposedly jogging was the plan but we did well, we walked from Muldoon from 9:30am to the Fairview Rec center on Karluk street an average of 6 miles. We had prepared for this for a week. I asked the kids if they wanted to join me they were excited and trained with me everyday when I would get off from work at the tracks on Northern Lights and Lake Otis. As exciting as they were it wasn't till we got about 30 minutes into the walk there were constant complaining about how their feet hurts, or constant questions like "Are we there yet", Why can't we just ride our bikes there?, Is Daddy going to pick us up, LOL.. I was just enjoying my time with my kids and pushing them to believe after hard work comes great things... Why Fairview Rec Center? I had two basketball games, one at 12pm and another at 3pm. I figured it was going to take us at least 2.5 hours to get there.. when we arrived to our destination we were about 10 minutes late into the game. That's when their father arrived with Fia and Freddy LOL .. hey it's better than never =) Aano and Celeste didn't realize their accomplishment yet. It was not until after the game on our way home with veve and the kids that they started to realize how far they've come to walking from home to fairview rec center. They were shock, amazed, they couldn't believe as a kid they can do this... exactly what I wanted for them to experience and know first hand.. the blessings of hard work. Overall we lost the first game, and won the secound.. Veve left to work .... the kids are exhausted after playing at the tracks running with their dad after my game.. As I come to an end ...I am humbly greatful to know my kids were able to experience this great accomplishment.... I know Our Saviior is with us and many on our paths to learning.. today they were able to see the example of hardwork and what awaits them at the end... My heart is full with thankfulness, I am so greatful for the blessings in my life.. the challenges we face, the people we cross paths with, and much much more.. Oh I forgot to mention, our scripture reading.. we are now on Jacob.. =) Nephi brother.... daily scripture reading has been such a blessing for me and the kids.... their father may not be there with us . but what matters to me the most is Teaching my children the gospel principles and teaching them to "Endure to the End"...

Looking Forward....

It's running late in the evenning I haven't yet had a "ME" time to myself and when I try,..... I find myself enjoying the company of my children next to me as I type this.

April is almost over we are now getting close to the summer with more daylight on our way. I am anxious which drives me more each day over the exhaustion I have and the laughter yet used to surpress the weakness I have inside. I love my job.. I really do yet i crave for more responsibility .. I crave for more knowledge that i feel the need to go back to school to earn my master's while working at the same time. What's stopping me, money and a husband that can't seem to find a job. It's depressing but I can't let that stop me. I need to work hard and show that I can do the work and that I am capable of handling a large task.. I know I am capable I know I have the talent and I know I have the smarts.. I may not speak the way they want me to but in my work alot is and can be done.

Well, enough said,..... it's time to move forward and do the best I can without sounding like an idiot to anyone. I think it's time to get the kids to sleep. We are close to finishing the 2nd part of Nephi.. we've come along way, every night before they are suppose to sleep I read to them a scripture each night.

As a testimony I believe in the Gospel I truly believe in Families are Forever, I truly believe Heavenly Father did not send us on this earth to relax, drink and be merry... I believe our task here is far more than just thinking for yourself and your own family but to do what's right in his eyes.. to keep the commandments, to serve others the best way you can without hurting your own family, to choose the right and not feel it's okay to sin because this sunday I'm going to repent... I dont understand that concept .. it just makes our Savior sacrifice more meaningless... "Wickedness Never was Happiness" ....... ...I truly believe in the Higher standards .... and I truly believe in the Book of Mormon it is a true testament of Jesus Christ .. it doesn't matter to me what others think .. I know it's true and I know he lives.. I know without a doubt that he will come again and when he does with or without me here on earth I know I will be there to witness and see the glory of him and his angels..

A little Sign of Spring

It's been a windy April so far and I'm just in and out with my coat. The kids are hopefully asleep now and I'm just enjoying whatever little time I have for myself "My Me Time". =) We just got thru reading another chapter with the kids. We are now on 2nd Nephi Chapter 3, I actually went thru this chapter without much of a pause (It was long......... ) I promise I'll go over it again sunday .. This week is showing some good signs for the kids at school.. mostly Freddy. From what his teacher said.. Thirty something years of experience she's never come across a boy like Freddy.. very hard for her to handle.. last week me and the kids father tried to figure out ways in which we can change this disobedient attitude of freddy. We tried taking away his toys, that didn't work, Freddy said he can always use his brothers toys.., we took away his favorite sweater, he said he was growing out of it, we took away his favorite underwear and switched it off with his sisters' . he said he didn't care no one going to know, we thought about making him skip a meal.. ( I just couldn't do it ) ... it was not until this one tuesday we took all the kids with us to the gym to play some basketball and volleyball ,,... we noticed how Freddy quickly ran straight to the bleechers after spending less than five minutes on the court. I looked at veve and said I think we found his weakness.. we called over Freddy to play more.. he said no he's tired.. we called him again, he cried and said no he's tired... later that night... we talked about this just me and veve... Freddy got into an argument with Aano and yelled at him for something.. we called Freddy and Aano downstairs and made both of them do pushups.. Aano didnt complaint.. but boy did Freddy cry not even completing the first push up his face was wet from all the tears rushing down his face.. Sooooo since then instead of exhausting all the options that no long work we found something that triggers that bad attitude, macho boy to a hopefully obedient child with a halo on his head LOL.. results.. for two weeks now he's been getting good remarks from his teacher.. as for the rest of the kids.. everyday a learning experience.. I hope they grow up to become strong Leaders ...

just another blog

The kids are hopefully asleep right now.. I'll probably hear my youngest daughter footstep in about five minutes or so wanting a hug from me for the 5th time. Last night I made a crazy mistake by accidently sending everyone listed on my gmail contact an invitation to review my family photo's online.. had no idea once I hit the button that all listed in my gmail will receive the invite.. including my boss and supervisor.. Yikes!
Well, we missed church again this week.. blame it on the Fourth Kind whatever the movie is.. spookie LOL.. you know I LOVE LOVE LOVE scary movie.. I can watch a gooooood scary movie .. but if it's relating it to a real documentary I GET HELLA SPOKE... Thank goodness for the Gospel I'm more at ease.. "Aliens if your going to abduct anyone in our family please let it be the kids father" LMBO hahahhahahaha he's not gonna like this LOL.. well I'm getting tired. this feels like journal entry.. in which I still have a couple of them when I was in elementary.. stopped writing after college because I realize not only have my mom read it but also my husband family LOL ALL SHALL BE REVEALED Hahahahahaha .. that's okay I'm alive and pushing to the fullest LOL .. well it feel good to blog .. hopefully I'm doing this right.. and hopefully the kids are asleep..

You know just a thought that occured to me.. Okay motivation for myself... I love reading daily scriptures.. but there are times in which I get so tired to read but continue to do so.. However, I noticed that I've been robbing my kids from not sharing this daily scripture reading with them .. even though I believe in the blessings to my family.. I want my children to learn to find their own blessings by teaching them.. so since last month we started reading our scriptures .. we started on the Book of Mormon.. with our crazy schedules each week sometimes we get one to three chapters down a month.. so far we've done two days straight.. now were on Nephi Chapter 13.. were going thru the interpretation of Lehi vision by Nephi.. the kids enjoy our reading time.. I hope tomorrow will be the same.... so I'll try to use Bloggin as a way to log in my scripture reading with the kids to push me to include them in this marvelous spiritual growth .. Goodnight.
